The Gorn are a fictional extraterrestrial humanoid reptilian species that first appeared in the 1967 episode titled "Arena" of Star Trek the Original Series. In this episode Captain Kirk fights an unnamed Gorn on a desolate, desert-like planet, while tasked with using the planet's natural resources to create a primitive, handheld cannon to destroy the Gorn.
